  • I’m an out of network provider. This means you pay up front and can seek reimbursement from your insurance. Most clients I work with get 60-80% of their session fee covered after they meet their deductible. I can invite you to use Thrizer to check your out of network benefits. Please email cher@bodywisdomcounseling.com if you’d like to start there.

  • Yes! My office is located in the Andersonville neighborhood in Chicago at 5215 N Ravenswood Avenue. It’s conveniently located off the CTA 92 bus line and walking distance from the CTA 22 bus line.

  • Yes! I actually learned my somatic approach, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, through an online training program. Somatic therapy involves helping you to pay attention to your body and learning to regulate your nervous system when you’re experiencing intense emotions or triggers. This can still be accomplished while meeting online. One small limit of online therapy is only being able to see movements of your upper body.

  • The first one to two appointments are the most structured because I’m gathering more detail from what you shared in your intake paperwork about your identities, symptoms, background, family, and goals for therapy. I also have tea, water, and a slew of fidget toys available if you’re seeing me in person.

  • If you need to cancel your appointment you must do so 48 hours ahead of your appointment or you will be responsible for the full fee

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
