EXPERIENCE Healing without performance or pressure

Trauma-Informed Reiki and Energy Healing

You’re looking for a type of care that goes deeper than words—or even your nervous system.

On the calm days, you can feel something shifting. There’s less anxiety, more presence, and a growing awareness of what your heart truly needs. Plus, you’re so proud of the work you’ve done — in therapy, in your community, or in the vulnerable moments of your relationships. But something isn’t fully sticking.

Your brain is always busy: overthinking, replaying conversations, and scanning for signs you’ve messed something up (again). Despite all the tools you’ve gathered, some layers of trauma or anxiety remain just out of reach, even with somatic therapy or your spiritual practice.

If this sounds familiar, I bet you’re ALSO LONGING FOR…

A holistic type of healing that feels spacious, gentle, and aligned with your rhythms

A restorative, spiritually open space that doesn’t require you to explain or mask

Greater connection to yourself and your intuition, and courage to uncover your purpose

Reiki helps you access deeper layers of healing, rest, and peace.

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive form of energy healing that works to restore balance in your nervous system, mind, and spirit. Whether hands-on or hands-off, Reiki is effective for offering you a way to access healing without words.

  • We wouldn’t be alive without “Ki,” or life energy, flowing through us. That energy flows along meridians, nadis, and chakras, which are channels in the body, and the energy is also present around the body in the aura.

If ki is not flowing freely, it impacts the organs, tissues, and cells of the body, which causes illness. Ki is also impacted by our thoughts and feelings, and negative thoughts can get stuck (i.e., such as not feeling worthy or lovable), causing the Ki to become unhealthy, or what’s called byoki. Reiki works by healing the byoki and allowing energy to flow freely again.

  • When you come in for Reiki we will have a conversation about what you’ve been experiencing and what you’re hoping for from Reiki. You will lay on a massage table fully clothed and you are invited to close your eyes, relax, and just notice thoughts, images, feelings, or sensations that arise while you lay there. You may meditate on your breath, or meditate on being open and thankful for the healing energy you will be receiving, but really you don’t have to do anything.

Depending on your preference, I will either place my hands lightly on you or a few inches above your body to send the Reiki energy. Hand placements on the body include the head, shoulders, and feet, and some practitioners place hands on the belly, hips, or back.

You may feel warmth, emotion may come up in the form of tears, or you may just feel more relaxed. After I complete the hand positions, I will invite you to share anything you experienced while receiving Reiki, and I will share anything I noticed about your energy—including areas where I felt the Reiki energy more intensely, or any images, sensations, or songs that came to mind.

  • Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that was discovered by Mikao Usui in 1922. The word Reiki is made up of two kanji, Rei meaning universal, present everywhere, and Ki meaning life energy (like qi in Chinese or Prana in Sanskrit). A deeper interpretation of Rei is a bridge bringing healing to Earth from the spiritual realms, which then translates Reiki to spiritually guided life energy.

WhAT MAKES REIKI DIFFERENT:

Reiki doesn’t force change. Instead, it creates the conditions within your body for deeper healing. It invites your system to rest, reset, and return to balance, on its own terms.

Is REIKI right for you?

Reiki may be a good fit for you if you…

  • Want healing that doesn’t require more words, explaining, or intellectualizing.

  • Are curious about energy work, but only want it offered from a trauma-informed provider.

  • Long to feel connected to yourself, your body, and something greater (even if you’re not sure what that is)

  • Feel stalled in your healing journey, even though you’ve already done a ton of inner work.

  • Want to have someone care for you, tending to the layers of your exhaustion with curiosity and calmness.

Relief from tension, pain, or overwhelm

Experience deeper healing without words

Energy knows where to go.

The beauty of Reiki is that it doesn’t ask you to mask, explain, or overextend yourself. You can show up exactly as you are, and the energy will move where it’s needed, offering care, resonance, and support to the parts of you that are ready to receive it.

Questions?

FAQs

  • Yes! While Reiki is not a substitute for mental health care, it can be profoundly helpful for trauma survivors or those living with panic or anxiety.

I’ve seen clients come in reporting panic at a level of 8/10, and through Reiki, they were able to experience a significant reduction in the intensity (down to 3/10). I’ve also seen energy healing help clients who were feeling intense shame (7/10) and end the session without feeling any shame at all.

Reiki can be used with any emotion that’s feeling intense. This doesn’t mean the emotion won’t come back, but Reiki can help resolve a feeling when it’s stuck, which can help shift how you respond in the future.

  • Not at all. Reiki and energy healing don’t require full belief, just a willingness to show up and receive. Many clients feel skeptical at first and still experience powerful shifts. Your skepticism—or curiosity—is welcome, and I am happy to answer any questions to help you feel more comfortable.

  • Sometimes, energy work can stir up emotions or sensations that were waiting to be processed, but it’s never about forcing anything. As a trauma-informed provider, I hold the space with care and will always help you ground and integrate after your session.

  • Yes! Energy isn’t bound by your location. Remote sessions are just as supportive as in-person work. You’ll rest in your own space while I tune in energetically and guide the session from afar. In some cases, virtual sessions can allow for deeper healing since you’re comfort of your own home and can manage your sensory experience.
