At a minimum you will experience relaxation and stress reduction from receiving energy healing, and for those with PTSD, anxiety, or panic disorder, that is highly beneficial because your nervous system needs help calming down.
I’ve seen clients come in reporting panic in their body at a level of 8 out of 10 and through reiki, they were able to experience a significant reduction in the intensity of the panic down to a 3 out of 10. I’ve also seen energy healing help clients who were feeling intense shame at a level of 7 out 10 leave without feeling any shame at all. And it can be used with any of emotion that’s feeling intense. Of course this doesn’t mean the emotion won’t come back, but reiki can help resolve a feeling when it’s stuck.
Personally when I receive reiki I usually feel very relaxed by the end, and I have a nervous system that tends to run more on the activated/anxious side. I’ve also experienced energy being beneficial prior to my own psychotherapy sessions because I’m less defensive, or in parts language, I would say the protector parts soften quite a bit, and it’s easier for me to have more compassion for them.
